Getting Started

1. Unbox your FamilyTalk

   Unpack your FamilyTalk phone, connect the handset, and plug it into power.

2. Look for the green dot

   Your phone should boot up to a screen with the date, time, and your new phone number.

   A green dot next to your phone number means you're ready to go!

   No green dot? Set up your Wi-Fi or wired network below →

3. Set up parental controls

   If you haven't already, log into your ChatterBox account to set approved contacts and parental controls.

   Open ChatterBox Account

4. Make a test call

   Place a call to (and from!) an approved contact to confirm inbound and outbound calling work.

You're all set!

Congrats - you're ready to chat.

Note: Some internet service providers may require us to adjust the settings on your phone. If calls aren't working, please contact our support team.

Wi-Fi Setup

You no longer need to add your Wi-Fi information to your ChatterBox account: simply configure it yourself by following the steps below.

Using a wired connection?

If you're connecting with a wired network cable, you can skip these Wi-Fi steps - your phone should connect automatically over the wired connection.

1. Plug your FamilyTalk phone into power.

2. Wait for the screen to show the date and time. Your phone number should appear in the upper left-hand corner.

3. Press and hold the Hold ⏸️ button while pressing 2. A Factory Function menu should appear.

4. Press the down arrow (the third soft button from the left) repeatedly until Wi-Fi Settings is highlighted.

5. Press Select (the rightmost soft button under the screen).

6. Press the down arrow to highlight Scan, then press Select.

7. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list using the Up/Down arrows.

8. Press Connect.

9. Use the keypad to enter your Wi-Fi password. (Tip: press Show to double-check you've entered the password correctly.)

10. Press Connect.

Your phone should now be connected to Wi-Fi!

Once you see a green dot next to your phone number on the main screen, you can start making calls.

We set up and tested your phone before it shipped, but it may take a few minutes to connect with the ChatterBox servers after your first power-on.
